Abstract
A Codependence Test is one of the measuring tools consisting of 25 items, for codependents in alcoholic family which had been developed by Kitchens in 1990. The purpose of this study was to examine reliability of Korean version of A Codependence Test and to investigate the discriminant validity, and to provide the sensitivity, specificity and efficiency according to cutting point. Finally, We aim to determine appropriate cutting point for identifying and screening the codependents of alcoholics family in the study. Korean version of A Codependence Test was administered to 186 non-alcoholic family and 36 alcoholic family. In the reliability test, Cronbach¡¯s ¥á coefficient was .90, and factor analysis provided evidence for the construct validity of Korean version of A Codependence Test. The mean values of codependence scores were significantly high in alcoholic family group than those in non-alcoholic family group. We provided T score norms and the sensitivity, specificity, and efficiency table according to various cutting scores, which may be useful to determine the optimal cutting point on various purpose. Using T 65 as the cutting point, specificity was higher than sensitivity. For the purpose of screening codependents in alcoholic family, we determined optimal cutting point as 39.
